A Story of Life, Healing, and God’s Love

When my teenage daughter had a roommate facing an unplanned pregnancy, the young woman was leaning heavily toward having an abortion. My daughter, full of compassion, convinced her to come and talk with me.

As I listened, I simply shared the Word of life with her. The Holy Spirit took over and ministered truth and hope to her heart. She chose to keep her baby—and not long after, she gave birth to a beautiful baby girl.

Fast forward about five years. News reached me that this little girl had been diagnosed with leukemia. At the time, I was leading a ministry called i am loved – THE CONCERT, hosting benefit concerts in the Kansas City metro in partnership with local independent Christian musicians and churches. Immediately, I knew we needed to rally together for this child and her family.

The concert was powerful. The venue was filled, the offering raised significant financial support, and most importantly, prayers of faith were lifted for the little girl and her parents. During that evening, the young mother pulled me aside with tears in her eyes. She told me, “The only reason I chose life for my daughter was because of your counsel.” But in truth, it wasn’t me—it was the Holy Spirit speaking through me.

She went on to say how deeply she loved her daughter and how she could not imagine a life without her.

In the months that followed, I kept in touch with the family, and my heart overflowed with joy when I learned that the little girl had gone into remission.

This story reminds me of the incredible ripple effect when we yield to the Holy Spirit. One conversation can save a life. One act of obedience can change a family’s future. And one child’s healing can be a testimony of God’s endless love and faithfulness.
