Saved by an Angel – My Second Testimony

It was 1977, and I was 16 years old. My 17-year-old friend had offered to teach me how to drive. We were lighthearted and careless—laughing more than focusing—on a narrow, winding road. I drove too fast downhill, and in an instant, I lost control.

At that critical moment—just before disaster—I felt something supernatural. Two unseen hands pressed over mine and firmly turned the steering wheel, guiding the car away from danger. My friend and I were spared from plunging off the road and down a steep, tree-covered hill. I knew it was no accident. An angel had stepped in to save our lives.

What makes this rescue even more profound is the state of my life at the time. I wasn’t living as a devoted Christian. My home life was toxic—I was a victim of abuse and neglect. I worked at a tavern, had no church or youth group, and my understanding of God was filtered through legalism rather than love. I don’t even know if anyone was praying for me. My own prayers were vague and uncertain, yet my heart still loved Jesus in the little way I knew how.

This experience reminds me that God’s goodness and mercy are not dependent on our perfection. He loved me before I ever fully found Him. His hand of protection was over me, even when I couldn’t see it. Truly, God is good, and His love reaches into the darkest places to rescue us.
